An inscription on the Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial that has faced criticism will be changed, an Interior Department official tells CNN.

The memorial in Washington was unveiled in August and has many of King’s quotes on it. Poet and author Maya Angelou was among those who said one paraphrased inscription wrongly made King seem arrogant.

The inscription reads: “I was a drum major for justice, peace and righteousness.”

King’s original words were from a 1968 sermon at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta: “If you want to say that I was a drum major, say that I was a drum major for justice. Say that I was a drum major for peace. I was a drum major for righteousness. And all of the other shallow things will not matter.”

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar told the Washington Post he has given the National Park Service 30 days to change the quote. [QUOTE: CNN]

Where in the World is John Boehner?

“Speaker John Boehner likes to travel — he is known for his love of golf and he recently admitted to a newspaper that he simply doesn’t “do stress”. So it’s no wonder that he would adjourn Congress and head off on a round-the-world vacation while the American taxpayers pay the price.

With time running out before hardworking families face a middle class tax increase, you would think Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor would be in Washington trying to hammer out a deal. Nah! Instead they’re jet-setting around the world on your dime.

Enough is enough. Help us spread the message that the vacation is over and tell Boehner to get back to work at our new web site, WhereInTheWorldIsJohnBoehner.com.  [Quote]
