I never thought I would say it, but, I miss the Republican Primary Campaigns. There was so much to write about, so much to be angry about, so much to roil against and so many zealots who caused general angst in the body politic. Democrats don’t have that process to go through to re-elect President Barack Obama. Perhaps our donations are lagging is because Obama has not fueled the fires of progressive indignation and grow our passion for winning the White House. We need to get mad! Mad about our do-nothing Congress. Mad about the war on the President because he is black. (That war was declared by incumbent Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky.) The other generals in the GOP war are Speaker John Boehner and House Majority Leader, Eric Cantor.
Mr. President, we need a cause to whip up support and channel our collective anger about what Republicans are doing to our government and us who pay the bills. Congress is bought by special interests and big money. The chief special interest is self-preservation. If we don’t all get in the game, we have no hope of changing the status quo. Why hasn’t Atty. Gen. Eric Holder not been on TV keeping us abreast of his success at fighting those who work to suppress the vote in the Presidential Election? Where is the Democratic campaign to explain Obamacare in simple and real terms? Yes, there are speeches and website posts, but, I recently watched people on the street being interviewed who were clueless about the law and how it affects them. Mr. President, the US Supreme Court gave you a “W”. The ball is in your court. We have 121 days to produce “Son-of-2008″ and win re-election.
