RE-POST AS ROMNEY SEEKS REVIVAL IN UTAH
It should be abundantly clear to all of us how dangerous a Romney presidency would be. Mitt Romney wants to cede federal power back to the states, many of whom were bankrupt recently and had to quietly seek stimulus funds which they subverted to balance their state budgets. Who really thinks the states would properly administer sole control of Medicaid? I don’t understand why the polls have the election so close. I guess many people are befuddled by lying political ads on TV. They can’t imagine that Mitt Romney would really turn Medicare into a voucher program where the elderly would have to seek healthcare insurance at a time in their lives when their bodies and faculties are waning. Romney supporters cannot see the dead stacked up in emergency rooms when after too late seniors are forced to take public transportation to get to a hospital and seek medical attention to stay alive.
Mitt Romney is some kind of Svengali who gives stump speeches promising “big things” with no ideas on how to financially make them real. The Paul Budget is real. Once installed in the Whitehouse, Team Romney-Ryan would use their good offices to influence Congress to extend tax cuts for the TOP 1% and increase taxes on the poor and middle-class to pay for them. For 30 years the middle-class has seen no appreciable increase in wages and salaries while those at the top of the ladder have flourished. President Romney would show us a new meaning for the word misery. When President Romney repeals Obamacare, we, the elderly, will have to go back to eating cat food and choosing whether to buy medicines or food. (I am not exaggerating!)
President Romney would abolish the EPA and repeal Dodd-Frank. The workplace will once again be fraught with the danger that comes when regulations are rolled back and health and safety rules are thrown out the window. Once again consumers will be at the mercy of their bosses, the banks and all the Romney cronies who bought the election with dark money, money from secret donors to Super Pacs. In the Oval Office President Romney would use his “working digits” to sign into law bills selected by Grover Norquist, Karl Rove and the Koch Brothers. You will remember the image of a Romney presidency that Norquist described so vividly. We will have no clean air to breathe or clean water to drink. We will have to resort to drinking cheap beer and wine to quench our thirst. Remember the Middles Ages? Remember Jesus turning water into wine? Could that have been needed because the water was so foul?
A department of Women’s Affairs will be established to identify and monitor fertile women who will return to being baby-making machines. How will we feed and care for all those new babies? Will we have to bring back orphanages? With the Department of Education abolished, who will do our high-tech work and that of lawyers, doctors, scientists…? Ubiquitous chaos will ensue. The Romney presidency and government will fail. The rich will be in their counting houses…counting their money while the rest of us die from too little food and too much labor required by the insatiable greed of our masters. One day we will wake up and find that, just the Roman Empire did, the United States of America has sunk into oblivion. [There will be no nation to fight the inter-stellar wars when aliens come to take over our planet.]
This is, indeed, a dark picture. But, we don’t have to accept it. We can paint another one, all rosy and full of prosperity. We can have the future we deserve if we trust Barack Obama and vote him in for another four years to work on his agenda after working so hard to lift the country out of the quagmire left by George W. Bush…a Republican!
