A Humble Crown

“I praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” -Psalm 139:14

When I consider the heavens and the amazing world that God has created, I find myself feeling small and insignificant. Yet, the God of the cosmos knows you and me intimately! The crown of God’s creation is YOU!As God’s creation, you are infinitesimally more intricate than any microscope can capture! Did you know that there are approximately 100 trillion cells in your body? Most of these cells (there are a few exceptions) perform millions of chemical reactions. It’s conservatively estimated that the human body undergoes about 400 billion chemical reactions per second every second of your life. Each chemical reaction involves multiple protons, electrons, and neutrons. You and I – we are fearfully and wonderfully made! Psalm 139 says this: (Verses 1-4) “O Lord, You have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, You know it.” (Verse 7) “Where shall I go from Your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from Your presence?” (Verses 13-14) “For You formed my inward parts. You knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

As the crown of His creation, I am humbled when I think of how big God is and how He has created the world and me. So, do not worry about becoming prideful if you praise God and think about how big He is.

Humility is not thinking less of yourself – but thinking more of God!

Lord, I am humbled to be the crown of Your creation! I am honored at the same time. Today, I will think more about You and how big You are. May I honor You through my life, today. Amen.
