PRESIDENT OBAMA SPEAKS ABOUT JOBS AT BRENT SPENCE BRIDGE WHICH CONNECTS BOEHNER AND McCONNELL’S DISTRICTS
Have you seen that seemingly benign commercial about how safe it is to drill for gas? The talk is about drilling under water sources with drills sheathed in layers of steel which surely protects our drinking water. That’s a crock! Here is Exxon/Mobil’s ad:
“What is fracking? Hydraulic fracturing, fracking for short, occurs when oil and gas companies blast millions of gallons of chemically-treated water into the ground to force oil and gas from tightly-packed shale deposits.”
Shocking, isn’t it? Drinking water can be set on fire. Also, dangerous chemicals are getting into the water table. Farm animals are dying and farmers wonder about contamination of their fruits and vegetables by the runoff from fracking operations. T. Boone Pickens had me excited about the abundance of natural air here, but, he never mentioned fracking. It is not safe. And, the government is allowing it to poison us. Victims of fracking “know about health studies showing toxic contaminants in the air at fracking sites, the reported episodes of chemical poisoning, the flaming water faucets, exploding houses, and fish kills.” I submit that this is the republican way of doing business: No effective regulations to keep
the community safe industry. The push for new jobs is good, but, your job shouldn’t kill you! Well-known actor Mark Ruffalo has written a blog post about why he is involved with fracking. Click his picture to read it. Fracking doesn’t make the six o’clock much, but, I’ve seen it on cable news. We need energy. However, we need to keep our environment safe from republican <> business conduct.
Our government is so large that it seems impossible to keep up with all the problems. And, just think: some well-known republicans advocate for smaller government and having the states do many of the jobs the federal government does for us. The states would only f*ck things up as sure as Bob’s your uncle!

“Troy Davis was put to death by injection in Georgia on Wednesday at 11:08 ET despite numerous last-ditch attempts by his lawyers and supporters to stay the execution.
Davis had been scheduled to die by lethal injection at 7 p.m. ET for the 1989 killing of Mark MacPhail. But the proceeding was delayed more than three hours as the justices pondered a plea filed by his attorneys after last-ditch appeals failed throughout the day.
Davis had been scheduled to die three times before, most recently in October 2008. That time, the U.S. Supreme Court halted the execution two hours before it was scheduled.
The case has drawn international attention, with Pope Benedict XVI, South African anti-apartheid leader Desmond Tutu and former President Jimmy Carter saying the execution should be called off. Amnesty International and the NAACP have led efforts to exonerate Davis, and U.N. human rights officials joined those calls Wednesday.” [SOURCE CNN]
