Obama said Wall Street protests are “giving voice to a more broad-based frustration about how our financial system works.”
THE PRESIDENT CALLED UPON REPUBLICANS & LEADERS ANSWER TO THEIR CONSTITUENTS.
We witness discontent from coast to coast. 14 million people have no jobs. People are losing their homes and moving back in with their parents. The majority of home mortgages are under water. [Mortgage value is greater than the house is worth.] Three years after our Wall Street/Banking crisis, no one has gone to jail! Food and gas prices rise. Our youth see no future. Our elderly are scared. Our politicians have few ideas. Our Congressional leaders refuse to govern and wait for the chance of a new administration run by their opposition party. [Witness GOP Leader Eric Cantor‘s refusing to consider bills sent to The House by the President.] One bright piece of news: 91,000 new jobs in September. But, unemployment is still unreal. Business used to flourish in this country until regulations for worker health and safety grew to the point that employers felt they had to move thousands of our jobs overseas where labor is cheaper and regulations are lax. Resulting profits are dormant instead of being used to grow our domestic economy. Wall Street has gone back to making money with exotic instruments like derivatives. President Obama is silent…but watching.
The other day we thought our President had turned into a tiger. He said he wanted to be a “warrior for the middle-class.” Mr. President, dark clouds are on the horizon. People whisper about revolution. Make that revolution American-style: NO VIOLENCE! Mr. President we need our warrior at the head of the imposing battle preparing us for and leading us in the future pain and suffering. Yes, things will get worse than they are today. There can be no peace until we have the “economic justice” that the demonstrators in “OCCUPY WALL STREET” call for, until we throw out the lobbyists who corrupt the halls of our government, until The Fed uses all of its power to affect the economy, until we vote corrupt and vacant politicians out of office, until we enjoy universal civil rights for all, until all us see what can be gained from active participation in the political process and until we reclaim our heritage E PLURIBUS UNUM: one out of many. Then we will know peace. Oh, then we will know a happy day reborn as greater Americans. God bless us and our leaders!
