President Obama has cobbled together legislation consisting of bills that Republicans have supported. He has named it the American Jobs Act. The Senate plans to vote on it this week. In The House, Majority Leader, Eric Cantor (R-VA) has declared that he will not allow the President’s bill to come up for a vote. Republicans don’t want to create jobs because that might make President Obama look good to potential voters.
We need the American people to swell the ranks of groups like OCCUPY WALL STREET around the nation to pressure our government to create the jobs we have been promised! We cannot let the Republican plan of 13 months of gridlock to succeed! INTO THE STREETS, PEOPLE! DEMONSTRATIONS AND PROTESTS WORK! [Just take a look backward at the Tea Parties.]
FINALLY, WE CONSUMER FINALLY GOT A FEDERAL AGENCY TO PROTECT OUR RIGHTS…NOTABLY, WE CREDIT CARD HOLDERS. EVEN THOUGH THE AGENCY EXISTS, ***REPUBLICANS*** refuse to fund the agency. They want our lives to be subjugated to the imperious controls of the banks and Wall Street!
REPUBLICAN MAJORITY LEADER OF THE US HOUSE, ERIC CANTOR, CALLED US “A MOB!” THAT IS WHAT ERIC CANTOR CALLED THE AMERICAN PEOPLE GATHERED TO EXPRESS THEIR OUTRAGE AT OUR CORRUPT FINANCIAL AND POLITICAL SYSTEM WHICH ONLY SERVES THE TOP 1% OF SOCIETY. A SOCIETY SHOULD EXIST FOR THE WELL-BEING OF ALL ITS CITIZENS AND BE CONTROLLED BY THE PEOPLE UNDER OUR JUST CONSTITUTION! THOSE WITH MONEY HAVE CORRUPTED OUR SYSTEMS AND—WITNESS CITIZENS UNITED—MADE GOVERNMENT “OF THE PEOPLE AND BY THE PEOPLE” A PERVERSE STATEMENT OF OUR REALITY!
“A MOB?” WHO THREW THE TEA INTO THE HARBOR AND STARTED THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION? ERIC, DID YOU CALL THE TEA PARTY “A MOB” WHEN THEY FIRST APPEARED WITH THEIR RACIST AND UN-AMERICAN PLACARDS? WHEN THEY SPIT ON A SITTING MEMBER OF THE HOUSE YOU LEAD? YOU OWE US AN APOLOGY, MR. LEADER!
Democracy will not come
Today, this year
Through compromise and fear.
I have as much right
As the other fellow has
On my two feet
And own the land.
I tire so of hearing people say,
Let things take their course.
Tomorrow is another day.
I do not need my freedom when I’m dead.
I cannot live on tomorrow’s bread.
Is a strong seed
In a great need.
I live here, too.
I want freedom
Just as you.
