Will You Vote to Let Romney Screw All Companies Bain Capital Style? 1

Bain Capitalism: Subsidies, Tax Breaks — And Bust-Outs?

Mitt Romney complains loudly and often about the “European” policies of the Obama White House, from excessive deficits and debt to government subsidies of industry. But his ultra-lucrative career at Bain Capital shows this carping is more rhetorical (and recent) than sincere. His inflated boasts of job creation appear to derive from companies that depended on government grants, tax favors, and other public benefits.

Even worse, however, Romney seems to have been unfazed by excessive borrowing when he worked in the private sector. For instance, Bain piled debt on a steel company it acquired, took the borrowed proceeds as “dividends,” and left the workers and the government to cope with the subsequent bankruptcy. Someday perhaps, Romney will explain just how this predatory style differs from what the mob used to call a “bust-out scheme.” READ MORE

American Voter: Does This Title Mean Anything to You: “Breach of Trust”? (Tom A. Coburn, MD)

We Trust a Candidate and Give Him/Her Our Vote. When They Get to Washington, They Breach Our Trust

While I have not read this book, the title says it all.  This year’s election is first spawn of Citizens United, the US Supreme Court and the Republican Party.  For the first time we will see how big money (SuperPacs) will pollute our government and political system without shame or jeopardy. That is because the prime movers operate in darkness, secrecy.  They are answerable to no one.  They give their names to no one. No financial reports are ever generated. [I wonder, what is the rate of return for “investing” in a SuperPac and how does the payoff work?]  Newt Gingrich was too broke to wage “Gingrich-style war” in Iowa and New Hampshire. But one billionaire in Las Vegas decides to give Newt’s SuperPac millions of dollars and Newt Gingrich’s  private agenda was given new life to serve Newt…and not the country. Oh, he may wrap himself in the cloak of Ronald Reagan and “the party,” but, read this article which explores the idea that “it’s all about Newt Gingrich”:

Mitt Romney Quote Shows Why He Should Not Get Votes from the Poor and the Middle-Class

“If you think that I should spend my entire campaign carefully choosing how everything I say relates to people, as opposed to saying my own experience and telling my own experience, that would make me a very different person than I am,” he said. “I’m going to tell people my own experiences in life, and I realize they’re not the same as everybody else.”  But, Mitt, you are applying for becoming President of a country of primarily poor people, many without jobs, young people with poor schools getting their education budgets cut, people who cannot afford healthcare, people who are having problems with housing, buying groceries, caring for our elderly, etc. IF WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY DOES NOT RELATE TO US, why should we invest our time in listening to you tell us “your experience?”  We know all we need to know about you rich people from the movies and TV!  We use “your experience” to escape our miserable existence, not improve our lives!  We are looking for a President who will tell us how his mission in life is to improve the human condition in America for the majority of the people, not the “TOP 1%,” who are doing very well.  From you own words, we don’t need a Mitt Romney!

Just as I was ending this article, I found a post on Huffington Post where Mitt Romney completely contradicts himself saying how much he cares about us and wants to help.  Did he take a university course on lying with a straight face and without remorse— felt inwardly or outwardly?
