Everyone is familiar with the following video from Mitch McConnell, Minority Leader of the US Senate. Mitch is from Kentucky. You never hear anything good from him. No brilliant ideas. No positive approaches to government. All he has is an obsession to defeat the first black president: [Another George W. Bush in the Whitehouse?]
A lot has happened over the last 1000 days. 1000 days ago, no one could have imagined the rise of the Tea Party and the historic political change it brought about in 2010. 1000 days ago, no one could have conceived of the historic upheaval in the Middle East and financial crisis in Europe. 1000 days ago, no one had heard of the iPad yet. And 1000 days ago, no one could have imagined that our economy would still be stalled, with unemployment over 8%
Yes, the world has changed a lot over the past 1000 days, but with all that’s happened in that time, there’s one thing that we haven’t seen: It’s been 1001 days since Obama and the Senate Democrats have passed a budget.
That’s 1000 days of runaway spending. 1000 days without even attempting to balance the books. And now, Obama and the Democrats have the audacity to tell Americans that we need more big government regulation and more failed economic “stimulus”
Last night, President Obama addressed the nation during his third State of the Union to advocate for more of the same – more discredited, failed economic policies, more big government solutions, more divisive rhetoric designed to turn Americans against each other.
We’ve seen what 1000 days of Obama policies can do. That’s why my Republican colleagues in the Senate and I have worked so hard to stop the runaway spending and government overreach that Obama and the Democrats have tried to push through, but we can’t do it without your help.
That’s why this year’s elections are so important. Senate Democrats have had 1001 days to put our country’s fiscal house in order, and they have failed to make the hard choices we need to restore fiscal sanity to Washington. If we are going to put our nation back on the road to a prosperous future, we need a conservative Republican majority in the Senate…
We need your support to ensure that this country never goes another 1001 days without a budget…
Mitch, what is more serious and far-reaching is Republican President George W. Bush started, not one, but, two foreign wars, one of which President Obama has ended and the other he finally will end by 2014 (when we hope you will retire.] These Republican wars were never included in a budget. You funded them with CONTINUING RESOLUTIONS which are funding the government today. You need to be honest and include Republican failings and short-coming when you attack Democrats who trying to run our country with a “do-nothing Congress.” To the American people “obstruction” and “Republican Party” are synonymous! Compare President Obama’s approval record with yours (Congress). The people are not the fools you need them to be to win in November and in ’14.
