History was made at this second Presidential Debate. The moderator, Candy Crowley, was intimidated by former Gov. Romney and stammered when addressing him. Seeing this, Mitt bold told Candy, “No,” when she tried to steer the conversation. Also, Candy took advantage of President Obama’s natural politeness and decision to honor the rules of the debate. Being the President, Mr. Obama treated Ms. Crowley with respect. Mr. Romney showed the women voters of America what little respect he has for them. This is surprising when Mitt keeps talking about his chief of staff and his wife. Note: I still have great respect for Candy Crowley and often watch her program on CNN, “State of the Union.”
The highlight of the debate came when President Obama called Gov. Romney out as being offensive. The President was angry and he showed it. Throughout the evening he dominated the conversation with truthful answers and detailing untruths of Mr. Romney starting back in the GOP Primary. I have never seen Mitt Romney so flustered and nervous.
The debate ended with Mitt Romney’s lie that he cares for “100%” of us after we saw the tape of him expressing his true feelings when he spoke behind closed doors. President Obama spoke last. He used the moment to remind us who are the “47% of Americans who refuse to take personal responsibility for their lives”: That 47% is you and me!
