Ambassador Susan Rice Withdraws Her Name from Consideration in the National Interest

So, you have clipped the Carolina wings of an ultra-qualified black woman in politics.  What have you gained more than a black mark on your own legacies. But, you don’t care for fairness in government.  “No whipped cream on your apple pie, Susan Rice,” you tell your victim.  Today the American people have more respect for the victim of your power-play than any success you may take delight in.  Enjoy the bitter taste of such success as it macerates in your sorry mouths.

Note: Senator Graham’s first name is “Lindsey,”  actually.  Sorry.

Beware the Office Christmas Party

Exclusive Excerpt: “Comical Sense: A Lone Humorist Takes on a World Gone Nutty!” by Tom Purcell

“You got fired because your company had a Christmas party? You’re going to have to explain.”

“Look, I’ve been going to company Christmas parties a long time. The mix of office politics and adult beverages has caused some nutty things to happen over the years. But now everybody is so serious and so easily offended, things are worse than ever.”

Rick McKee / Augusta Chronicle

“What did you do?”

“Well, the owners of my company threw a traditional office Christmas party after work one evening — the last such party they’ll ever have. Thanks to me and the boys in the sales department, adult beverages were flowing. I thought everybody was having a good time. But something was missing.”

Twinkie CEO Admits Company Took Employees Pensions and Put It Toward Executive Pay

Hostess company continues to screw over its workers.

December 11, 2012

Twinkie-maker Hostess continues to screw over its workers. The company is in the process of complete liquidation and 18,000 unionized workers are set to lose their jobs. More troubling – they could lose their pensions.

According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, Hostess’ CEO, Gregory Rayburn, essentially admitted that his company stole employee pension money and put it toward CEO and senior executive pay (aka “operations”). While this isn’t technically illegal, it’s another sleazy theft by Hostess executives – who’ve paid themselves handsomely while running their company into the ground. Just last month, a judge agreed to let Hostess executives suck another $1.8 million out of the bankrupt company to pay bonuses to CEOs.

Rice Drops Bid for Secretary of State, Citing Opposition

Published: December 13, 2012

WASHINGTON — Susan E. Rice, the ambassador to the United Nations, has withdrawn her name from consideration for secretary of state, in the face of relentless opposition from Republicans in Congress over her role in the aftermath of the deadly attack on the American Mission in Benghazi, Libya.

In a letter to President Obama, Ms. Rice said she concluded that “the confirmation process would be lengthy, disruptive and costly — to you and to our most pressing national and international priorities. The tradeoff is simply not worth it to our country.”

Mr. Obama, who spoke with Ms. Rice on Thursday, said he accepted her request with regret, describing her as “an extraordinarily capable, patriotic, and passionate public servant.”

“While I deeply regret the unfair and misleading attacks on Susan Rice in…
