Can humans love as Jesus does?

Let's Talk Gospel

I cannot recall the number of times I have heard my fellow Christian brothers and sisters repeated the phrase: “I want to love as Jesus does”. I have even used this phrase countless times. However, after careful examination of the life Jesus lived, and the things He did and stood for, when He walked this earth, I am convince human beings cannot love as Jesus does. Furthermore, Jesus did not tell humans to love like He does. He commanded them to love their neighbors with the same sincerity as they would themselves.   The apostle John who was up close and personal with Jesus writes the following: “Greater love has no man than this that a man (Jesus) lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13).

Woman Sues Boss for Saying She Looks Like Susan Boyle

U.S.

An advertising executive is suing her boss for what she says were insults that she resembled ample reality TV star Susan Boyle.

Laura Ziv, an ad director for perfume company Firmenich, has filed a $6-million lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court against the company and her boss, Herve Pierini, alleging taunts over her looks and weight, the New York Post reports. Ziv claims stress from the harassment led to a brain hemorrhage.

Referring to the singing star made famous by the show “Britain’s Got Talent,” the suit contends that “Pierini taunted Ziv at a party given by an executive of the [company’s] biggest client at her home by repeatedly referring to Ziv as ‘Susan Boyle,’ a Scottish singer who is often taunted in the media as being old, fat and ugly.”

Neither Pierini nor the company commented on the suit.

Syria Hackers Hit Marines Site

U.S.

Hackers claiming to be part of the Syrian Electronic Army briefly took control of a United States Marines website early Monday, according to multiple reports.

News outlets including Al-Jazeera America and the International Business Times, as well as at least one cyber-security professional, spotted the hack. The site, marines.com, quickly returned to normal for most but not all users.

Claiming to be representatives of the SEA — which supports embattled ruler Bashar Assad and in recent days also has hit sites including the New York Times and Twitter — the hackers posted a message that read as follows: “This is a message written by your brothers in the Syrian Army, who have been fighting Al-Qaeda for the last 3 years. We understand your patriotism and love for your country so please understand our love for ours. Obama is a traitor who wants to put your lives in danger to…
