Continuing education for voters
Professionals in healthcare and real estate and other careers must complete a defined number of hours of continuing education every two years to renew their licenses to practice. I favor a mandatory continuing education program for voters. Some voters are not qualified to cast an educated vote and they should not be allowed to vote. Continuing education materials could be supplied at no cost to voters by the League of Women Voters, political parties or news organizations. Voters could choose to receive their education by mail, TV or the internet. Passing a quiz on the material presented as well as voter registration would be a requirement for voting.
