Disputes over tighter voting procedures grow as election year approaches
By Ramsey Cox – 11/05/11 02:30 PM ET
Tighter voting laws, such as those requiring voters to produce a photo ID before casting their ballot, in several states could not only disenfranchise some voters, but also lead to longer voting lines next year, according to the results of a mock election in Wisconsin.
House Republicans and Democrats bickered Tuesday over the new laws on the House floor. Democrats said voter ID laws disenfranchise minority, elderly and student voters — who typically support Democrats — while Republicans claimed the new laws reduce voter fraud. [The Hill]Continue reading.

Liz Cheney appeared on CBS’ “Face the Nation” this morning…regrettably. She offered no original answers and insulted Host, Bob Schieffer and the producers for their choices of subjects for discussion. Shieffer, a trooper, went on undeterred by the “Republican consultant.” The big subject of the day was Herman Cain and his unresolved issues of sexual harassment in the workplace. Cain is adamant that he did not harass anyone, yet his employers paid two female Cain co-workers a total of $80,000 in hush money. The people have a right to know, Liz Cheney!

Charles and David Koch, a/k/a The Koch Brothers, are billionaire industrialists who are using their money to buy and control our government. They act behind the scenes. Today, Herman Cain, who has received campaign donations from the Koch Brothers in his past, proudly declared, “I am a Koch brother by another mother!”
This blog has several post that cover the Koch Bros. Check out this one. I fear where Herman Cain or any of the Republican candidates for President would take this nation. Most are under-prepared for the office and none of them enjoy the respect of the American people.
WE MUST RE-ELECT BARACK OBAMA AS PRESIDENT IN 2012.
When President Obama says that we can’t wait to put Americans back to work, he’s not just talking about the White House. He’s talking about all of us. That “we” is everyone.
The President has a proposal — the American Jobs Act — that economists say could put nearly two million Americans back to work. But some in Congress are determined to block that jobs plan, so we’re getting started with concrete actions that President Obama can take without waiting on lawmakers to debate legislation or pass a bill.
We are looking at everything that the government can do, and we know that some of the best ideas are going to come from people like you.
If you have an idea for something President Obama can do without the help of Congress, or know of a program in your community that needs to go nationwide, I want to hear from you.
