MoveOn.org ad against McCain: “Bomb Iran” song

Uploaded by  on Apr 20, 2007

MoveOn.org has created a political ad that features Republican presidential candidate Senator John McCain (R-AZ) briefly joking about the prospect of bombing Iran by singing to the tune of the Beach Boys song “Barbara Ann” (“Bomb, bomb, bomb, Bomb Iran“) while giving a speech. MoveOn.org asserts that this is evidence that McCain would be a reckless president, and ends the ad by saying that “we can’t afford another reckless president.”

John McCain Supported Condi Rice After Massive Intelligence Failure

President Obama has yet to nominate anyone to succeed Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State, but Republicans are already lining up in opposition to potential replacement U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice, citing her complicity in the administration’s alleged failures in responding to the attacks in Benghazi, Libya

On Wednesday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) promised to filibuster Rice’s nomination and “do whatever to block the nomination that is within our power.” “She’s not qualified,” McCain explained, arguing that she misled the public by initially attributing the September 11 Benghazi attack to protests over an anti-Islam video. He claimed that at a minimum, Rice is guilty of “not being very bright, because it was obvious that this was not a ‘flash mob’ and there was additional information by the time she went on every news show…in America.”

But interestingly, McCain took a far different approach to another Rice in 2005. When President George W. Bush nominated National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice to the post, McCain defended the nomination, despite Rice’s central role in spreading the false intelligence that Saddam Hussein was developing weapons of mass destruction. The Democrats held hours of hearing and ultimately confirmed Rice, but not before McCain accused the opposition of using politics to delay her confirmation and challenging her “integrity”:

Non-Partisan Congressional Tax Report Debunks Core Conservative Economic Theory-GOP Suppresses Study

What do you do when the Congressional Research Service, the completely non-partisan arm of the Library of Congress that has been advising Congress—and only Congress—on matters of policy and law for nearly a century, produces a research study

Mitch McConnell is as obstinate as a Kentucky tree stump! This is all he knows how to do. Obama’s mandate and the people will win over Mitch’s  ego.

that finds absolutely no correlation between the top tax rates and economic growth, thereby destroying a key tenet of conservative economic theory?

If you are a Republican member of the United States Senate, you do everything in your power to suppress that report—particularly when it comes less than two months before a national election where your candidate is selling this very economic theory as the basis for his candidacy.

Initially released on September 14, 2012, the study—authored by Thomas Hungerford who is a specialist in public finance at the C.R.S.—correlated the historical fluctuations of the highest income tax rates and tax rates on capital gains dating back to World War II with the economic growth (or lack of the same) that followed.

The conclusion?

Lowering the tax rates on the wealthy and top earners in America do notappear to have any impact on the nation’s economic growth.

Join me as I “shine a light” on Senator Mitch McConnell from Kentucky

(AP PHOTO)

The sour senator above is Mitch McConnell.  He is minority leader in the Senate and he has used the filibuster over 300 times to block Senator Harry Reid who is Majority Leader of the Senate.  It is Harry who should be making news as he guides legislation through that body and into law. Mitch McConnell failed decisively in his personal and party war on Barack Obama.  Although the President won the election, Mitch labors on unchanged.

HEY, MITCH:   WE WON THIS!@#!

Mitch McConnell runs for re-election in 2014 and may be opposed by activist Ashley Judd.  Please urge her to run.  In the meantime, join me as I shine a light on Mitch McConnell to keep everyone abreast of  Mitch’s bad behavior and encourage them to fight the continued use of the filibuster in the Senate.  You can click the link on the menu above or click HERE to read my latest newspaper, “Shining a Light on Mitch McConnell.”  PLEASE SUBSCRIBE TO GET A DAILY COPY IN YOUR INBOX.  THANKS!
