President Obama's Inauguration in 2009

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Some of the leading Republican governors are coming to President Barack Obama’s defense against charges from former Senator Rick Santorum that the president’s push for universal higher education amounts to intellectual and political snobbery.

Speaking to reporters outside of the White House after a meeting between the nation’s governors and the president, Gov. Bob McDonnell went out of his way to praise the administration’s education policy, calling it one of the few areas of bipartisan consensus. He added that the pursuit of a college education was something that all lawmakers should push students to consider. MORE

Former President John F. Kennedy, our only Catholic President

Yes, John F. Kennedy is a saint!  He is the first white man I remember who fought for the civil rights of my people.  He moved me so much, I dedicated my high school yearbook to him.  I remember how exciting it was to write to the Whitehouse and ask for his picture. I loved this man so much.  When he was assassinated, I could not talk about it for years. It still tugs at my heart.

RICK SANTORUM, President Kennedy set the standard for a Catholic President.  He set the bar…and you don’t measure up!

Koch Brothers Respond to Obama Campaign Singling Them Out

February 26, 2012

The Obama campaign sent out a fundraising email singling out the Koch Brothers as America’s boogeymen and blaming them for high gas prices. (Just imagine what the press would do if a Republican president did such a thing.) Koch Industries wasted no time in responding.

Because every American has the right to take part in the public discourse on matters that affect the future of our country, I feel compelled to respond directly about a fundraising letter you sent out on February 24 denouncing Koch. It is both surprising and disappointing that the President would allow his re-election team to send such an irresponsible and misleading letter to his supporters.

For example, it is false that our “business model is to make millions by jacking up prices at the pump.” Our business vision begins and ends with value creation — real, long-term value for customers and for society. We own no gasoline stations and the part of our business you allude to, oil and gas refining, actually lowers the price of gasoline by increasing supply. Either you simply misunderstand the way commodities markets work or you are misleading your supporters and the rest of the American people.

As to that last sentence, I’d say it’s a little bit of both.

Read the whole thing.

Rick Santorum ‘Speaks’ to the American Woman. Choose Wisely!

Hey, Rick Santorum, Have You Heard of Diplomacy? I Guess Not. :(

Rick Santorum and others are coming down on the President got apologizing for our burning Muslim holy books.  We have a mission in Afghanistan (Even though Americans are tired of this war!)  We have sent advisers and diplomats to build a nation where one has never existed before.  By apologizing to Afghanistan we are showing them the respect a fellow nation gives to another’s culture and traditions.  It’s called diplomacy!

Definition of DIPLOMACY

: the art and practice of conducting negotiations between nations
: skill in handling affairs without arousing hostility : tact
Perhaps the people in Afghanistan are giving up bringing their society into the 21st century.  Perhaps we should bring the troops home for THE FOURTH OF JULY!
