When a friend calls to me from the road
And slows his horse to a meaning walk,
I don’t stand still and look around
On all the hills I haven’t hoed,
And shout from where I am, What is it?
No, not as there is a time to talk.
I thrust my hoe in the mellow ground,
Blade-end up and five feet tall,
And plod: I go up to the stone wall
For a friendly visit.
Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, (D-AZ)
God, please bless Rep. Gabrielle Giffords as she lies critically wounded. She was just doing her job when tragedy struck. She was talking to her constituents when someone tried to silence her voice. Please give her a full recovery. Father, please accept the prayer that Jesus gave us.
Heavenly Father, the 112th Congress has begun a perilous journey in governing the land. Please bless them with insight, wisdom and cautious daring. Make their term one of success and fruitfulness for the American people.
SPEAKER BOEHNER REFUSES TO BELIEVE CBO – DECIDES TO HIT THAT ICEBERG ANYWAY
SPEAKER BOEHNER gives no justification but refuses to believe the Congressional Budget Office’s analysis that repealing “Obamacare” would add to the Deficit. Hey says, “That’s their opinion.” Opinion? The CBO is the authority on which Congress relies for accuracy and trustworthiness. PLAY “So Funky It Stinks”
Along with the “Pomp and Circumstance” of being the President of the United States, Barack Obama has special powers and executive powers and military powers as Commander-in-Chief of our Armed Forces. We have been given three branches of government which check each other in getting the people’s business done and in defending The Constitution. [Of course the three branches are the Executive, Legislative and Judicial Branches.] The 112th Congress will prove interesting. However, it could be continued obstruction and delay or with the power divided in Congress, the watchword could be COMPROMISE… (or as one prominent congressman prefers, “reaching common ground.” 🙂 The quick pace of legislating we witnessed in the lame duck session could be sustained and the stench of dysfunction could be purified with courageous action on bills in both houses of Congress. Have you prayed for this Congress and it’s leaders? Have you contacted your elected officials and voiced your opinions. CHECK THIS SITE. Where do you stand in the battle between FoxNews and MSNBC in covering the news from day-to-day? Do you use Twitter and Facebook to keep involved in the political process? I have not read “The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire,” but, I’ll bet somewhere in there is apathy! If we leave it to others to get it done, we should not whine and whimper about how President Obama or Congress is doing “nothing” (gridlock) and the Washington lobbyists have more sway over politicians than the very people who stood in line and voted them into office. Let’s all make America the exceptional nation it once was. It is our destiny! God bless the United States of America!
Our Forefore Fathers Gave Us a Three Tier System of Checks and Balances
HOUSE DEMOCRATS, Eric Cantor is trying to peel you off from our leadership for the vote on repealing the President’s legendary healthcare bill.
Rep. Eric Cantor, (R-VA), Majority Leader
He seeks to divide and conquer. DON’T FALL FOR IT! The time spent on this bill is a waste except to create drama. Let’s show the world that democrats can pull together and vote as a block…..just like republicans. Even though you may have voted against the bill last year, please DO NOT VOTE WITH REPUBLICANS ON JANUARY 12th! Vote with your party as a show of solidarity on this bill which has no chance of passing in the Senate and would surely be vetoed by the President…if it came to that. YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE AND YOU WILL GAIN THE RESPECT OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. This vote is for image-making only, my friends. God bless America!
Flash: Senate will not adjourn on first day which will allow a vote to change the rules later in the month.
It's On Our Money, But Make It a Real Part of Your Life
Well, this is the last day to exert your influence on the 112th Congress decision to CHANGE THE RULES. You know we have been going on for several days about our need to get involved. Did you do your part as I did? It’s so easy to follow the links which lead to an email form which will allow you to give your opinion on changing or abolishing the filibuster and giving a quick and holy death to secret holds on bills. These changes can only be done tomorrow! If you have not acted, please do so! In addition to emailing your US Senator and US Representative, be sure to email Senator Harry Reid, Majority Leader of the Senate and Rep. John Boehner, Speaker of the House. The US Census just announced that our population is over 308,000,000 strong. Can you imagine how Congress would react, yet alone handle, an email from each us TODAY AND TOMORROW? Go ahead! Do it! This collective action could not be ignored. And, this could lead to further activism. [If you are afraid, please leave me a comment so that I can understand.] Thank you and GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! More…
PRESIDENT OBAMA ENCOURAGES DISCHARGED SOLDIERS TO REENLIST
Imagine: 14,000 gay men and women wanted to serve in the military, they made the courageous decision to lie about their sexual orientation to be able to serve the Nation. These particular gays and lesbians were found out or outed and were subsequently discharged from service. In a few months we all hope to have the Repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” fully implemented. Then, President Obama encourages them to reenlist. I hope that there lives and psyches were not so destroyed that they cannot return to their noble service. No doubt there is anger, embarressment and thoughts of failure. But, those feelings are transitory.
That growth may require some work for those who’ve been inactive.
Well, most of the heros of the DADT movement are unsung. We all know Dan Choi who is in the photo below protesting “DADT.” We will see who steps forward to lead the 14,000 back to the service. Some may need support including financial. Hopefully, fairminded Americans will step up. GOD BLESS THE USA!
Ex-LT. Dan Choi Protests with Other in Front of the White House
I’ve decided I want to blog more. Rather than just thinking about doing it, I’m starting right now. I will be posting on this blog once a day / once a week for all of 2011.
I know it won’t be easy, but it might be fun, inspiring, awesome and wonderful. Therefore I’m promising to make use of The DailyPost, and the community of other bloggers with similiar goals, to help me along the way, including asking for help when I need it and encouraging others when I can.
If you already read my blog, I hope you’ll encourage me with comments and likes, and good will along the way.
