On Tuesday, the court accepted two cases centered on the issue of business owners’ religious expression.
It’s another test for the embattled health care law, which is already struggling under the weight of a botched website and a political backlash after millions of Americans saw their current insurance plans cancelled for 2014.
With the national health law’s political future now entrenched, a deluge of new rules is expected in the coming days and weeks as the Obama administration fleshes out the law’s complex components.
Most of the anticipation has been focused on rules that determine how the new state-based insurance marketplaces called exchanges will operate. But also closely awaited are decisions about how the government will tax medical devices, allot the shrinking pool of money for hospitals that treat the uninsured, and determine how birth control insurance coverage can be guaranteed for employees of religious schools, universities and charities.
“We knew right after the election, this is all coming out,” said Blair Childs, an executive at the Premier health alliance, which advises hospitals.
Some of these rules have been under development for nearly a year.
Other key decisions will be determined outside the rulemaking process, as the Obama administration selects participants in several experimental programs, including a new payment method for doctors, hospitals and other providers.
For awhile, Rick Santorum lectured us on what the nuns taught him….gave him his personal view of things. IMHO, Rick is totally Catholic where it is easy for him to lie to us and then go to Confession and get his sins excused. Rick wants us to stop asking questions about what he said on contraception, sex, birth control, “the sexual realm (whatever that means) and gay rights. IMHO it is reasonable to believe that Rick Santorum may have reminded his lawyer wife about the Bible‘s role of a wife and made her submit to his request to go on CNN and try to save his ass. It is just possible, I say As it is now, he is free to reverse what his wife said, should his fantasy of becoming President occurs.
Joe Scarborough just got dissed by his so-called friend, Rick Santorum. Joe asked a question about contraception and Santorum refused to discuss the subject having used the controversy to his political advantage. Now he sees that his always styling his campaign to be agreeable to the Pope could be liability. The American people heard him lecture us on and on about catholic marriage, catholic use of birth control, catholic!….catholic! catholic! The American people are not willing to convert Rick Santorum’s church and his so informed personal values. Rick Santorum never answers a question asked of him. He always give the politician’s answer: rhetoric and diversion. I just saw Rick Santorum on National TV, afraid to give his honest answer to a question he could no longer argue. Shame!
SOMEONE MUST MAKE RUSH LIMBAUGH TO BE MORE RESPONSIBLE WITH HIS MOUTH. Rush promised “to give the women of Georgetown as man aspirin they want to put between their legs.” Ladies, call him out! Contact Rush and place a large continuing order. Even a billionaire can feel a dent in his pocketbook. 🙂
In my youth we called condoms, rubbers. They were cheap, came in gold foil and were not on display in stores. No one spoke of them. Contraception has a long way, baby! And, since the ’80s, we are cautioned to not use them when we have sex. And, I mean, ALL OF US! In 2012 contraception is an integral part of our lives. Today there are a plethora of contraceptives.
