+++ Please, God, Protect My Sight +++

Christ in Gethsemane (Christus in Gethsemane), oil painting by Heinrich Ferdinand Hofmann (en:Heinrich Hofmann). The original is at the de:Riverside Church (en:Riverside Church, New York City).

It is Sunday morning and I just awoke from a dream.  I don’t remember all of it, which is common.  I do remember the tail end. I was in an environment where there were sighted people learning a kind of 3D braille.  In the dream I decided that it might be a fun skill to have.  I started playing around closing my eyes, feeling the braille, then opening my eyes to see the shape.  To start an educational project at my age would be ambitious. “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.”  I hope this was not God’s subtle way of telling me that my diabetes was robbing me of my sight.  Heavenly Father, please protect my vision…and my ability to physically take care of myself. [I never found “Mr. Right” and I don’t have children.]     AMEN!

Sunday Morning Message …For the Instruction of Rick Santorum

I have been hearing Rick Santorum talk on and on about his catholic upbringing, how it is the “way things are the way things are supposed to be and how he tells one audience he would not turn his religious opinions into our laws…and, then, tells another that he would.  You know how politicians are:  Tell an audience what it wants to hear, what will secure their vote. Rick, it’s a sad way to make a living.  Yesterday, as I thought of you and your campaign, God lead me the part of the Bible which talks about righteousness as God sees it.  I hope you will read today’s post and be changed by it. God so loved the people you persecute that He sent His Son to die for their sins, long before even their known relatives were born.  As a child, I was taught, “Jesus Loves Me, Yes, I Know, For the Bible Tells Me So.”  No mortal man has a lock on God or Jesus. We are ALL sinners and come short of the Glory of God.  Rick, you seem to be a very religious man.  Do you have any inkling how the Bible says God sees your righteousness?

The Bible says that our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment.
