SERMON: Hypocrites Shall Be Judged
“O God of Life, Creator of the universe, Sustainer of all, we come before you in sorrow and anger at the killing on our streets and in our schools, workplaces and houses of worship. We come in repentance at our own participation in the culture of violence in our land. We come in hope borne of past victories over injustice, asking for strength and clarity and fortitude, that we might bring about transformation in our laws, in the ways we resolve conflict and address fear, in our tolerance for violence, in the hearts of our leaders and our fellow Americans. May we become a people who put our trust in You, not in our weapons. By your mighty power, and in your overwhelming love, renew our vision for peace and safety in our land, beginning with us today, we pray. Amen.”

Maundy Thursday (also known as Holy Thursday, Covenant Thursday, Great and Holy Thursday, Sheer Thursday and Thursday of Mysteries) is the Christian feast, or holy day, falling on the Thursday before Easter. It commemorates the Maundy and Last Supper of Jesus Christ with theApostles as described in the Canonical gospels. It is the fifth day of Holy Week, and is preceded bySpy Wednesday and followed by Good Friday.
The date is always between 19 March and 22 April inclusive, but these dates fall on different days depending on whether the Gregorian or Julian calendar is used liturgically. Eastern churches generally use the Julian calendar, and so celebrate this feast throughout the 21st century between 1 April and 5 May in the more commonly used Gregorian calendar. The liturgy held on the evening of Maundy Thursday initiates the Easter Triduum, the period which commemorates the passion, death, andresurrection of Christ; this period includes Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and ends on the evening ofEaster. The mass or service of worship is normally celebrated in the evening, when Friday begins according to Jewish tradition, as the Last Supper was held on feast of Passover.
Each Sunday morning I watch “Jack Van Impe Presents.” Dr. Van Impe has had a colorful past. His 30 minute program feature news headlines that concern religion ans especially world news reports that witness the signs in THE BIBLE that forecast the soon return of Jesus Christ: The Rapture. Dr. Van Impe and his wife, who is co-host, are both “conservative” and very anti-Obama. They ask the question, ‘Is Barack Obama the Anti-Christ.” I have to overlook their politics and remember that this man has memorized over 10,000 Bible verses and says God is using him as a prophet. One has to respect him.
Dr. Van Impe testifies that we are in the ‘End of Days’ and that we should be looking for the signs that Jesus Christ told us to look for which would signal His return…and The Rapture. I have sorted out all the facts and the timeline of events as Dr. Van Impe testifies, but, he does say that the world will be ruled by one powerful leader who will be in league with Satan. He will organize World War III which will be a nuclear attack on Israel. Russia, Iran, China, etc. will all be allies to exterminate the Jews in Israel which God will send Jesus to prevent and end history as we know it. [I hope I have not misinterpreted what has been on “Jack Van Impe Presents,” which is the name of the weekly TV program.
While I try to understand the information presented, I remember that Christ said that in the End of Days there will be false prophets. I try to prove for myself what I believe might be true and what might be Satan’s propaganda. Dr. Van Impe just revealed a forecast that Pope Francis will be the last Pope and the one who will preside over Armageddon. Most of us went to Sunday school as children, but, do you still believe in and worship the Lord God, Jehovah? He sent his Son, Jesus, to earth to die for our sins which reconciles man to God. All we have to do is confess our sins and accept Jesus as our Personal Savior. I hope this post has piqued your curiosity and that you seek knowledge and salvation. I write because Jesus told us to “spread the Gospel, the Good News.” Heavenly Father, this is my witness. —GoodOleWoody

Hundreds of thousands of people filled St. Peter’s Square to welcome Pope Francis, the first Latin American pontiff, to celebrate his inaugural mass in front of numerous heads of state from around the world.
Pope Francis rode around the square in an open-air jeep as he waved and kissed babies along the way. The pope exited the jeep at one point to bless a man who was in a wheelchair.

For Billy Graham, it’s always been about one thing.
From his 1949 tent revival in Los Angeles, to the 16-week New York Crusade in 1957, to more than 200,000 flocking to Flushing Meadows, N.Y. in 2005 to hear him preach one last time—it’s always been about the Gospel.
In November 2013, one event will attempt to send that message out to the United States and Canada at one singular time. It’s the biggest evangelistic undertaking for North America in the 60-plus-year history of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
The name of this endeavor: My Hope with Billy Graham.
“It could be Billy Graham’s final call to America to turn to God,” explains Preston Parrish, BGEA Vice President for My Hope with Billy Graham.
The method will change, but the message will be the same.
And the stakes have never been higher.
On the week of Billy Graham’s 95th birthday, Nov. 7, 2013 — Christians across the entire U.S., as well as Canada, will be invited to reach their nation like never before — one friend, one family member, one neighbor at a time.
Instead of filling a stadium or packing a park, My Hope with Billy Graham will take place in homes across America, where a 30-minute video presentation will be used as the catalyst to change hearts and lives.
Some have referred to My Hope as the “Living Room Crusade.” Individuals, either on their own or through their local churches, are being asked now to begin making a list of non-believers to pray for, people who are in need of the eternal and lasting hope that can only be found in Jesus Christ.
