Hey, Republicans…Get on the Bus! The future waits for no one.

====O====

Mike Murphy is right.  The GOP Primary was an assault on decency in America.  The Republican candidates for president showed us just how ugly politics can be…if you decide”

  1. The end justifies the means.
  2. Winning is everything.
  3. It is OK to lie to prospective voters to win the Whitehouse.
  4. God gives politicians a “pass” to sin without consequences.

I hope that sentient Republicans see that this is the perfect time for campaign finance reform as they search for their “raison d’être”.  Our national disgrace with dark money and Super Pacs is literally evil and must be outlawed!  Voter suppression is, also, evil and it is un-American.  Not all Republicans have lost their souls.  True patriots from both parties must come together and reclaim the prosperous and virtuous future we deserve!

The Ugliest Show on Earth

Obama-Biden 2012

Looking at the Romney-Ryan Campaign and looking back at the GOP primary campaign, I have to say, sadly, “We have been watching THE UGLIEST SHOW ON EARTH! All of the primary contestants “lifted their skirts and we saw their dirty laundry.” [Mixed metaphors?]  What disturbs me most is that Republican politicians from the top down have convinced themselves that the American people are looking the other way as they try to win with campaigns of lies, racism, hate and ignorance.  None of that lot has impressed us with their suitability, even their winner by attrition.  In 5 days it will be mano-a-mano time when we will witness the first presidential debate with Barack Obama and challenger, Mitt Romney.  These debates will be the culmination of our quad-annual political process.  Yes, Virginia. American politics is a dirty business! But, it services the best governmental system in the world.

At 39 days before the election pundits are saying most people have made up their minds about who to vote for.  Regardless of one’s choice, we have seen a party that once espoused “family values and moral superiority” earn a lower ring in Hades – as it were – as they obstructed the nation’s business as a political tactic to win the Whitehouse. My sainted Grandmother often said, “God don’t like ugly.” I depend on her being right and our waking up in the morning on November 7th with Barack Obama elected for a second term as President of the United States.  Pray with me:  “God bless our steady warrior for the poor and the middle-class, the Honorable Barack H. Obama.”  [Author: GoodOleWoody]

 Romney’s still-secret tax returns
This week, Newsweek reported that Romney asked Paul Ryan for 10 years of tax returns before picking him as his running mate — showing that he understands their importance as a vetting tool. But Romney refuses to give the American people the same level of disclosure that he asks of others. He needs to come clean and release multiple years of tax returns, so voters know whether he tried to avoid paying his fair share — and judge how that might influence the tax reform debate if he were president. Watch this videoabout Romney’s refusal to release more than one full year of his tax returns, then share it with others.

Romney’s China hypocrisy
Romney says he’ll be tough on China, but his record shows the opposite. Before he started claiming that he’d stand up to China and its unfair trade practices, he was profiting off of them. He maintained his investment in a Chinese manufacturing company that relied on outsourcing American jobs — even after seeing its poor working conditions, which he described as surrounded by barbed wire and packed with 12 women per dormitory room. When our competitors started a global race to the bottom, rather than placing a premium on creating American jobs and lifting the middle class, Romney dove in head first. Take a look at this new campaign ad that shows how he’s failed to stand up for American workers — then share it with your friends.

Romney’s manufacturing falsehoods
Romney is out with a new ad about manufacturing and trade with China. It lies about the President’s record — and it doesn’t tell the truth about Romney’s, either. It’s the sort of fact-free ad that we’ve come to expect from the Romney campaign, and we have to push back on every single one. I recorded a video to take on the ad’s distortions, and to talk about the President’s real record on manufacturing and China. Take a look, and share it with others.

“Presented With Letters, Ryan Admits Requesting Stimulus Cash”

ABC NEWS

“After repeated denials, Paul Ryan has admitted he requested stimulus cash even after sharply criticizing the program.

Ryan had denied doing so as recently as Wednesday, when he spoke to ABC’s Cincinnati affiliate, WCPO, in Ohio.

“I never asked for stimulus,” Mitt Romney’s new running mate said. “I don’t recall… so I really can’t comment on it. I opposed the stimulus because it doesn’t work, it didn’t work.”

Two years ago, during an interview on WBZ’s NewsRadio he was asked by a caller if he “accepted any money” into his district. Ryan said he did not.

“I’m not one [of those] people who votes for something then writes to the government to ask them to send us money. I did not request any stimulus money,” the congressman answered.

But as we’ve now learned, Ryan did write letters. He did request stimulus funds.” FULL QUOTE

Although He’s Now the GOP Nominee, Mitt Romney Will Operate W/O GOP Platform. Would Congress Follow Such a President?

A little while ago New Jersey put Mitt Romney “over the top” winning the nomination for this politician who symbolizes all that is ugly with politics in America.  Since his days of the primaries, Mitt Romney has been flip-flopping, mis-characterizing and outright lying to us.  His elitist wife called us, “You people.” How divisive! As we sit here, the President’s jobs bill still lies dormant in a Congress that has used gridlock and the filibuster to block Barack Obama from creating millions of jobs.  Do you understand what I said? Millions of Americans could be earning a paycheck and putting food on the table if it were not for the Republican leaders in Congress:

L/R Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Rep. Eric (R-VA) and Rep. John Boehner (R-OH)

If Mitt Romney were to become President, who is to say, these men, although Republicans, would follow Mitt Romney’s lead? The Republicans who now run Congress are ROGUE POLITICIANS who are in league with the dark forces that really run this country but  seek anonymity. The most infamous of them we know are Sheldon Adelson and the Koch Brothers. Electing Romney could be like throwing the baby out with the bath water. The Republics have sent our nation on a downward spiral since the days of the president they don’t speak about: George W. Bush. President Obama has tried to clean up the ka-ka left by the Bush administration…without the help of Congress at times. Barack Obama has created 4 million jobs! Obama ended the War in Iraq and brought our boys and girls home from the fields of battle. His plan for ending Bush’s War in Afghanistan is scheduled to end in 2014. Re-election to the Whitehouse and winning control of both houses of Congress will allow our government to work again. We can abuse ourselves of the evil that is the TOP 1%…and their minions who seek only self-aggrandizement.
