PSALM 100:4-5

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.

PSALM 1:1-2

BOOK ONE: Psalms 1—41 ] [ The Way of the Righteous and the End of the Ungodly ] Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.

JOSHUA 24:15

And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

DAILY NIBBLE

“A dear old man, a Christian, once told me, with a smile, that he thought he was worse now than when he had first become a Christian many years ago.
He did not mean that he had become more sinful, and he did not mean that since he had received Jesus as Lord and Saviour that he was more disobedient. No, what he meant was he was more aware of his sinful nature, now that he had walked with God for those many years.

And that is how it is. The closer we get to God, who is perfect, and holy, and pure, the more we realise we are not meeting His perfect standards.
But that is good news, really, because people who are not Christians usually couldn’t care less! So be encouraged – if you feel an increasing need for God’s indwelling power, you are moving nearer to Him. That’s the best direction to go.” [Quote]

The Bible says to believers “it is God who works in you” (Philippians 2:13 NKJV)

“Nearer My God to Thee”

Have You Thought about Your Creator Today?

Growing & glowing through change…“Do all things without complaining and disputing that you may become blameless and harmless children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.”
-Philippians 2:14-15, NKJV”So many times, we get comfortable and complacent,” said DeVon Franklin, a recent guest on the Hour of Power. “As a studio executive, my job is to help get movies made. And there’s nothing I want more than to read a script and say the script is ready for production. But it’s very frustrating when I look at a script and I have to admit that there is still work to be done. I know that many of you, just like me, when you look in the mirror, you have to acknowledge that there is still work yet to be done.”When we acknowledge that we’re not all that we could be, we sometimes get frustrated with ourselves. Why do we keep tripping over the same sin over and over again? Why can’t we just get it together?

“What God is trying to write in your script is patience and love. He’s saying, ‘Don’t look at yourself and what you see in the mirror. I need you to see yourself the way that I see you. You are a hero. You are victorious. You are a champion. Don’t let the devil use his keyboard to write into your script failure. No, no, no, no, no. I made you perfect. And, yes, I might have to do a rewrite from time to time.'”

Prayer: Heavenly Father, when you’re working in my life, sometimes it’s painful, and I tend to complain. Help me to see how positive it is that you’re growing me through times of uncomfortable change. As I grow, help me to glow; help me to become a bright light in a dark world. Amen.

Reflection: About which part of change do you complain? What could you do other than complaining to improve the situation? To encourage others?
