POLITICO: “Unpopular House GOP lies low in Tampa”

TAMPA, Fla. — It’s no big secret here: House Republicans aren’t exactly the belle of this ball.

Despite reviving the party in 2010 with gigantic gains in the lower chamber, just five House GOP lawmakers will address the pared back convention – a reminder just how unpopular the House Republican majority is in this country.

None of the heralded freshmen will take the stage at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.

Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) – the highest-ranking Republican Jew – isn’t speaking to the crowd here.

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), chatting with reporters at a lunch, is talking about the need for a shorter convention and simpler platform — and he doesn’t have a premiere speaking slot either, according to a new schedule provided to POLITICO.

Mitt Romney Cannot Be Trusted with the Whitehouse

Mitt Romney waited 36 hours watching others in his party try to resolve the Akin controversy before he spoke.  This is a primer for his approach to the presidency.  “At 3:00am when that red phone rings in the Whitehouse,” Mitt Romney won’t stir! He’ll leave it to his underlings to take action.

Vital News from Obama for America…

President Obama speaks on women’s health decisions
President Obama on Monday spoke out about the outrageous comments of Rep. Todd Akin, the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in Missouri, who said that victims of “legitimate rape” don’t get pregnant because “the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.” The President said that Rep. Akin’s comments show “why we shouldn’t have a bunch of politicians, a majority of whom are men, making health care decisions on behalf of women.” Watch the President’s entire responsehere, and share it with others:
